Ann Hogan M.Ed. SPHR, SHRM-SCP President

I am a proven business executive, who loves Human Resources and all that goes along with it! I have an entrepreneurial spirit and that is why after 25 years in the corporate setting, I have decided to start a new professional chapter in my life with the formation of Ann Hogan Consulting. Ann Hogan Consulting is focused on providing clients with professional, strategic and analytical service in all areas of Human Resources, Recruiting, Training and Workplace Innovations within an organization.

I have vast experience in all area of Human Resources and I will bring a focused energy to any project or services that is provided. I am skilled at working with all levels of staff within an organization and love working with people. With today’s competitive market, I feel that an organization’s most valuable commodity is the employee. There are times when an organization has a need for a variety of Human Resources services and/or projects to be completed but doesn’t necessarily have the expertise or time to complete those initiatives. Ann Hogan Consulting has the experience, expertise, and capability of providing Human Resources services for any size organization. I will be personally involved in your project with the overall goal of providing human resources expertise so you can be confident the initiative will be tailored to your organization’s specific needs. My goal is to provide sound Human Resources initiatives or services that will benefit your organization for many years to come.

As a Vice President of Human Resources for one of Colorado’s largest Migrant and Community Health Centers, I worked in many diverse areas of Human Resources for a multi site organization including: employee relations, compensation design and management, policy design and review, benefit design, employee development and training, provider and staff recruitment, credentialing, conflict resolution, performance management, acquisitions and mergers, workplace investigations, strategic planning, and large corporate events to name a few. Additionally, with my Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience, I have been through seven successful Joint Commission accreditation surveys and several health center reviews. Previous Human Resource experience includes working in a union environment for a national food distributor and I also worked for a large hospital system in the Long Term Care area.

I have written published articles on Human Resources and developed and presented many trainings on a variety of areas including, but not limited to: Management Skills, Hiring the Right Staff, Domestic Violence and its impact on an organization’s human resource, Onboarding and Orientation, HR Metrics, Employee Engagement, Developing Leaders, Performance and Workforce Development.

My Master’s Degree is from Colorado State University in the area of Education with a emphasis on Organizational Performance and Change. I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver in the area of Business Management with a focus on Human Resources. I am also a graduate of the University of Washington Community Health Leadership Institute Certificate Program and I completed the Geiger Gibson Fellowship Program through George Washington University in 2012.

I am a certified Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resource Certification Institute and a SHRM-SCP through the Society for Human Resources Management. I am a professional member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration and the American Society of Training.

In my time away from Human Resources, I enjoy my two horses, training and walking my dogs while listening to music, skiing (water and downhill), spending time at the lake, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Beside being passionate about Human Resources, I also own a photography business whose goal is to “capture outdoor memories” – Cooper’s Creek Photography, www.cooperscreekphotography.com

I have a healthy sense of humor which comes in handy since I like to experience new adventures and travel. When I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, I learned a valuable lesson – just keep putting one foot in front of the other, laugh, keep moving and don’t necessarily ask, “ What is it that I am eating?”
